Elementary Musical Director

Seeking two aspiring theater educators to direct a production of "Annie KIDS" across three separate sections. As director, you will oversee casting, rehearsals, and performances for each section, ensuring a cohesive and memorable production. Responsibilities include adapting choreography and blocking to suit each group's abilities, fostering a supportive and inclusive rehearsal environment, and coordinating with parents and staff to ensure smooth operations. Ideal candidates will have a passion for musical education, and strong organizational skills. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to inspire young performers and contribute to the artistic growth of our school community.


 

Qualifications and Skills 


 Passion for Youth Theater: Genuine enthusiasm for fostering creativity and confidence in young performers through musical productions.


 Experience with Children: Demonstrated experience working with groups of 10 or more children, preferably in educational or recreational settings such as schools, camps, or community programs.


 Musical Knowledge: Basic understanding of musical concepts, including singing, dancing, and stage performance, to guide rehearsals effectively.


 Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication abilities to instruct and motivate young performers, collaborate with teachers and parents, and coordinate logistics.


 Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage rehearsal schedules, coordinate auditions, and ensure smooth production logistics.


 Adaptability: Ability to adapt choreography and rehearsal techniques to accommodate the skill levels and needs of young performers.


Schedule

Rehearsals: Sept 9-Nov 15th 

Section 1: Mondays 3:30-4:30

Section 2: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30

Section 3: Tuesday 5:15-6:15

Performance: Nov 15 with 3 separate performances (5:30, 6:15, and 7:00) for the 3 classes. 


Compensation

$1,000 Stipend for 10 weeks of rehearsal, lesson planning and performances.

Rehearsals: Minnetonka Elementary School Buildings (Various)

Performance: Excelsior Elementary


 

Minimum Registration Clause

In the event any of the sections do not meet their minimum of ten (10) registrations, the section will be canceled and compensation will be decreased by $400 per canceled section.

Theater Club Instructor

We are seeking passionate Theater Club Instructors to mentor students and help them develop their theater skills in a supportive environment in various schools within the Mounds View District. Your primary responsibility will be to implement detailed lesson plans provided (covering singing, monologue acting, scene acting, dancing and more), while also infusing your own creative flair and expertise into the curriculum. This part-time role involves teaching one hour per week for the duration of a semester, focusing on inspiring creativity and confidence in young performers. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in theater, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering artistic growth in a school setting

Private Lesson Instructor

We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic instructors to join our team. As a private lesson instructor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding young performers on their journey of artistic expression and personal growth. Receive training throughout your first semester while helping students develop fundamental skills in singing, acting, music theory, stage presence, and confidence building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct engaging and personalized private lessons in singing, acting, and general performance for children.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and skill development.
  • Tailor lessons to meet the unique needs and goals of each student, fostering their passion for the performing arts.
  • Integrate music theory, vocal techniques, acting exercises, and performance coaching into lessons to enhance overall proficiency.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to track student progress and provide feedback on performance and development.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while supporting the mission and values of Mosaic Performing Arts.

Qualifications:

  • Students pursuing a degree or have equivalent experience in Music, Performing Arts, Education, or related fields
  • Experience in singing, acting, or performing arts instruction, particularly with children and adolescents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to nurturing the artistic and personal growth of young performers.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, including students with disabilities.
